County votes for Don­ald Trump

CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County High School students took part in a mock elec­tion on Fri­day, Nov. 4, with 63 per­cent of them vot­ing for Repub­li­can Don­ald Trump for pres­i­dent.

When asked their pre­dic­tion for the out­come of the pres­i­den­tial race, re­gard­less of who they sup­ported, 56 per­cent be­lieved Trump would beat Hi­lary Clin­ton in Tues­day’s gen­eral elec­tion.

In the Con­gres­sional race, students re-elected Repub­li­can Andy Har­ris to the House of Rep­re­sen­ta­tives with 66 per­cent of the vote.

For Sen­ate, students elected Demo­crat Chris Van Hollen by a nar­row mar­gin, about 51 per­cent.

More than 59 per­cent of the students voted to keep the cur­rent sys­tem where the gover­nor fills mid-term va­can­cies for at­tor­ney gen­eral and comp­trol­ler.

On Queen Anne’s County Ques­tion A, more than 55 per­cent of students voted in fa­vor of chang­ing the way com­mis­sion­ers are elected.
