County votes for Donald Trump

CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County High School students took part in a mock election on Friday, Nov. 4, with 63 percent of them voting for Republican Donald Trump for president.
When asked their prediction for the outcome of the presidential race, regardless of who they supported, 56 percent believed Trump would beat Hilary Clinton in Tuesday’s general election.
In the Congressional race, students re-elected Republican Andy Harris to the House of Representatives with 66 percent of the vote.
For Senate, students elected Democrat Chris Van Hollen by a narrow margin, about 51 percent.
More than 59 percent of the students voted to keep the current system where the governor fills mid-term vacancies for attorney general and comptroller.
On Queen Anne’s County Question A, more than 55 percent of students voted in favor of changing the way commissioners are elected.
Students receive “I voted” stickers after casting their electronic ballots.
