Coun­ter­feit bill passed at Royal Farms

GRA­SONVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice is in­ves­ti­gat­ing a case of coun­ter­feit cur­rency.

The man­ager at the Royal Farms in Gra­sonville re­ported the fake $50 bill about 1 p.m. Sept. 21. An em­ployee had ac­cepted the bill at the cash reg­is­ter, po­lice said.

A check of store’s video showed an African-Amer­i­can male had pur­chased cig­a­rettes and a drink, re­ceiv­ing about $40 in change, po­lice said. He was driv­ing a BMW SUV with tem­po­rary tags.
