LIBRARIES CLOSED Both libraries in Centreville and on Kent Island will be closed all day Friday, Nov. 25, and will be open at regular times on Saturday, Nov. 26. DONATIONS NEEDED The Centreville Branch of the Queen Anne’s County Library system is asking everyone to remember our troops this upcoming holiday season. We will be a collection point to help support an Army Cavalry unit in Afghanistan. Bring an unopened, non-perishable and unexpired items to the Library by Saturday, Nov. 26. Suggested donations include: toiletries, shampoo, toothpaste, snacks, cookies, gum or beef jerky.
RESUME HELP Sign up today for one-onone resume help with the Public Services Librarian, to create, edit and even submit your resume. You will have a one-hour session with the librarian on Dec. 10 at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. or 2 p.m. You can register at qaclibrary.org/calendar or with a staff member.
BOOK CLUB The Library’s Afternoon Book Club will meet on Dec. 1 at 1 p.m. to talk about Erin Morgenstern’s latest novel, “The Night Circus.” The club meets in the library meeting room, and new members are always welcome. ONE MORE CRAFT NIGHT You will have to register for one more Craft Night to be held at the library on Dec. 28 at 6:30 p.m. It is an adult project and space is limited. All materials will be provided for the December session. It will be a Painted Mason Jar Snowman.
ZINIO SERVICE Zinio is an online digital magazine service available to all library cardholders. The Library edition offers free digital subscriptions to over 150 popular magazines including Consumer Reports, Country Living, Rolling Stone and Newsweek to name a few. Find the Zinio link on the library webpage. You can view the magazines on any Internet capable device including your PC, Mac, iPhone, Android device and Kindle Fire. An email will be sent to you when the new edition is available for viewing.
