CHESTERTOWN — Betty Fred­er­ick Usil­ton of Chestertown died Fri­day, Nov. 18, 2016 at Au­tumn Lake Health­care in Chestertown. She was 90.

Betty F. Usil­ton was born Nov. 27, 1925 in Penn­syl­va­nia, the daugh­ter of the late David Calvin Fred­er­ick and Jesse “Lee” Fred­er­ick. Mrs. Usil­ton at­tended school in New En­ter­prise, Pa. She moved to Mary­land in 1945 and a year later was mar­ried to her late hus­band, Ed­ward Robert Usil­ton Sr.

Betty went to work in qual­ity con­trol for Camp­bell Soup in the late 1950s and, af­ter more than 30 years, retired in 1987. Betty was a mem­ber of the Crump­ton United Methodist Church and the Crump­ton United Methodist Women. She en­joyed the out­doors and loved to cook. She was known in her fam­ily to have the best chicken and dumplings and white potato pie.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents and hus­band, she also was pre­ceded in death by two sis­ters and four brothers.

She is sur­vived by four sons, Ed­ward Robert Usil­ton Jr. of Crump­ton, Don­ald Howard Usil­ton Sr. of Kennedyville, David Ken­neth Usil­ton Sr. of Cordova, Tenn.; and Ron­ald Lee Usil­ton of Cam­den Wy­oming, Del.; one sis­ter, Hazel Eber­sole of Harrisburg, Pa.; 10 grand­chil­dren; and 15 great­grand­chil­dren.

A vis­i­ta­tion was held from noon to 2 p.m. Tues­day, Nov. 22, at Fel­lows Fam­ily Funeral Home, 370 Cy­press St., Milling­ton, where the ser­vice was held at 2 p.m. In­ter­ment fol­lowed the ser­vice in Crump­ton Ceme­tery in Crump­ton.
