Overturned tanker closes road in Queen Anne
QUEEN ANNE — Maryland State Police responded to a crash at Rt. 309 and Fox Meadow Road in Queen Anne about 8 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, for an overturned tractor trailer and tanker into the woods.
According to Sgt. T. Redpath, the 2011 International truck and tanker driven by George Durden, 51, of Denton, crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro driven by Norma Crites, 43, of Queen Anne.
The tanker then continued on 309 before landing on its side in the woods. Units from Queen Anne Hillsboro Fire Company responded with the Maryland State Police. The hazmat team was also dispatched for diesel fuel leaking from the truck, said Redpath.
The driver of the car was treated at the Queen Anne’s Emergency Center and released. Durden was transported to Memorial Hospital at Easton, said Redpath.
Route 309 was closed for about two hours. The crash remains under investigation.
