Hol­i­day crash leaves one crit­i­cal

CEN­TRE­VILLE — A crash early Thanks­giv­ing morn­ing, Nov. 24, left two peo­ple se­ri­ously in­jured. Ac­cord­ing to Mary­land State Po­lice the ac­ci­dent oc­curred when a pickup truck crossed the center line on Rt. 213 be­tween Wye Mills and Cen­tre­ville striking an­other ve­hi­cle head on.

Sgt. T. Red­path said the crash oc­curred at 1:51 a.m. when a Chevro­let pickup driven by Frances Con­nol­ley, 52, of Ch­ester­town crossed into on­com­ing traf­fic. Emma Par­sons, 25, of Queen­stown, was the op­er­a­tor and sole oc­cu­pant of the Ford Taurus struck by Con­nol­ley.

Units from the Good­will Vol­un­teer Fire Depart­ment, Queen­stown Vol­un­teer Fire Depart­ment, Queen Anne’s County Emer­gency Ser­vices, and Mar yland State Po­lice re­sponded to the ac­ci­dent. Both driv­ers were trans­ported by MSP he­li­copter to the Univer­sity of Mary­land Shock Trauma.

Par­sons is still listed in crit­i­cal con­di­tion, said Red­path. Con­nol­ley, who also sus­tained mul­ti­ple in­juries, is re­ported to be in sta­ble con­di­tion.

The crash re­mains un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion, Red­path said.
