Peace poster winners all SMS students
SUDLERSVILLE — The Chestertown Lions Club in conjunction with the Lions International Organization conducted a worldwide contest in which students between the ages of 11 and 13 participate in an artistic competition to create a poster in support of the central theme “Celebrating Peace.”
The winners of this year’s Chestertown Lion’s Clubs contest were seventh-grade art students from Sudlersville Middle School, taught by Vicki Bockmiller, said Fred Sherriff, Peace Poster chairman for the Chestertown Lions Club.
Isaiah Frisby received first place and a cash prize of $100. In second place, receiving $75 was Lindsay Lucus, and third, receiving $50, Carlos Aparicio.
Frisby, as first place winner will compete with the winners from the 48 local clubs from nine counties of the Eastern Shore. The winner of that competition will advance to the next, larger geographic competition.
The judging for the Lions Club’s International winner will be completed in February, with the International winner receiving a $5000 cash award.
