Demo­cratic Club sets party

GRA­SONVILLE — Join the Queen Anne’s County Demo­cratic Club for good food and friendly con­ver­sa­tion at its an­nual hol­i­day party, Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Fish­er­man’s Inn, Kent Nar­rows.

Mem­bers are asked to re­mem­ber fam­i­lies in need and bring a bag of food (non-perishable goods in jars, cans or boxes) for Haven Min­istries and a toy or two (new, unwrapped) for Toys for Tots. Checks are also wel­come.

Democrats in Mary­land cel­e­brate a re­sound­ing win for Sen­a­tor Chris Van Hollen, but say there is much work to do in the months ahead. Start with the Women’s March on Wash­ing­ton, Satur­day, Jan. 21. Sign-up sheet and in­for­ma­tion will be avail­able at the meet­ing. Elec­tion for of­fi­cers and board for 2017 will be held.

Af­fec­tion­ate and out­go­ing, Imo­gene gets along with all the other cats she is housed with at An­i­mal Wel­fare League of Queen Anne’s County. This 1-year-old cat’s purr mo­tor kicks into over­drive ev­ery time some­one ap­proaches, and she will be an ex­cel­lent com­pan­ion for some­one who wants a cat lots of love to give.
