Blue Heron Ladies cel­e­brate 2016 sea­son

STEVENSVILLE — The Blue Heron Ladies Golf League topped off the 2016 sea­son with a lun­cheon awards ban­quet on Oct. 3 at Fish­er­man’s Crab Deck. In ad­di­tion to the Cham­pi­onship Tour­na­ment Awards, a put­ting con­test, a game of “Guess the Num­ber of Tees,” raf­fles and door prizes pro­vided the entertainment. Ban­quet Chair­man Nancy Neo­many said 67 golfers par­tic­i­pated this year, in­clud­ing league guests Eric Bea­u­fait, Blue Heron man­ager and golf pro, and golf at­ten­dants John Sadler and Jack Stewart.

Deb­bie Gill from Her­itage Har­bor in An­napo­lis won the Club Cham­pi­onship again this year, and Pres­i­dent Jane Good pre­sented her with the league’s cham­pi­onship plaque.

The fol­low­ing play­ers were also awarded prizes for the Cham­pi­onship Tour­na­ment:

“A” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Rawle Man­nix, Gross 2nd Place: Ginni Mo­rani; Net 1st Place: Linda Cove­leskie, Net 2nd Place: Jane Ra­jotte;

“B” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Mar­ian Card­well, Gross 2nd Place: Linda Craw­ford; Net 1st Place: Va­lerie Gut­ter­son, Net 2nd Place: Rhonda Nethen;

“C” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Joan Cam­marata, Gross 2nd Place: Shirley Hatch; Net 1st Place: Bar­bara Brusso, Net 2nd Place: Pat Barry;

“D” Flight – Gross 1st Place: Dot Gib­son, Gross 2nd Place: Lisa Mielke; Net 1st Place: Nancy Kin­ney, Net 2nd Place: Priscilla Ryan.

The prize for Most Im­proved Player this year went to Pat Barry. Jane Good re­ceived a sig­nif­i­cant mon­e­tary prize for her Hole in One. Prizes were also given in each flight for 1st and 2nd Ringer Low Gross and Low Net, and 24 Birdie Ball Mark­ers were awarded to the play­ers who made a birdie dur­ing the sea­son.
