Gray re­ceives cus­tomer ser­vice award

CENTREVILLE — The Maryland De­part­ment of Hu­man Re­sources 17th An­nual Cus­tomer Ser­vice Ex­cel­lence Awards Cer­e­mony was held Oct. 4 at the War Me­mo­rial in Bal­ti­more. The Cus­tomer Ser­vice Ex­cel­lence Pro­gram hon­ors those in­di­vid­u­als that con­sis­tently dis­play a strong com­mit­ment to ex­cel­lence in cus­tomer ser­vice, per­form their du­ties with com­pe­tence, in­tegrity and com­pas­sion, and ad­here to the prac­tices and pro­ce­dures out­lined in the de­part­ment’s man­ual.

One staff mem­ber is nom­i­nated for this pres­ti­gious award from each of the 26 lo­cal De­part­ments of So­cial Ser­vices as well as DHR Cen­tral Ad­min­is­tra­tion.

Cather­ine Gray is this year’s re­cip­i­ent of Queen Anne’s County De­part­ment of So­cial Ser­vices Cus­tomer Ser­vice Ex­cel­lence Award.

Ac­cord­ing to her nom­i­na­tion: As a fis­cal ac­count tech­ni­cian, Gray con­sis­tently demon­strates com­pe­tency, in­tegrity and com­pas­sion in cus­tomer ser­vices. She is the an­chor in the fis­cal of­fice and pro­vides guid­ance to co-work­ers and su­per­vi­sors. Gray en­sures ac­count­abil­ity in all as­pects of fi­nan­cial man­age­ment and dis­plays a strong com­mit­ment to ex­cel­lence in all she does. She pro­vides quick re­sponses to staff inquiries and thor­oughly re­searches any dis­crep­an­cies. Gray’s au­dit skills are im­pec­ca­ble and she has been in­stru­men­tal dur­ing the au­dit process. Her cus­tomer ser­vice is ex­cep­tional and she is a true as­set to the de­part­ment.
