Gray receives customer service award
CENTREVILLE — The Maryland Department of Human Resources 17th Annual Customer Service Excellence Awards Ceremony was held Oct. 4 at the War Memorial in Baltimore. The Customer Service Excellence Program honors those individuals that consistently display a strong commitment to excellence in customer service, perform their duties with competence, integrity and compassion, and adhere to the practices and procedures outlined in the department’s manual.
One staff member is nominated for this prestigious award from each of the 26 local Departments of Social Services as well as DHR Central Administration.
Catherine Gray is this year’s recipient of Queen Anne’s County Department of Social Services Customer Service Excellence Award.
According to her nomination: As a fiscal account technician, Gray consistently demonstrates competency, integrity and compassion in customer services. She is the anchor in the fiscal office and provides guidance to co-workers and supervisors. Gray ensures accountability in all aspects of financial management and displays a strong commitment to excellence in all she does. She provides quick responses to staff inquiries and thoroughly researches any discrepancies. Gray’s audit skills are impeccable and she has been instrumental during the audit process. Her customer service is exceptional and she is a true asset to the department.
