Shakespeare group names spring tour
RIDGELY — Shore Shakespeare Company has announced its Spring 2017 tour production of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” by William Shakespeare. The production will be directed by Chris Rogers and produced by Shelagh Grasso.
The Company’s fifth tour production, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will open at Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely on June 2 and will close its run at Wilmer Park in Chestertown on June 25. A total of 11 performances at six separate venues are slated to include the following: Ridgely, June 2, 3, and 4; Oxford, June 9 and 10; Easton, June 11; Cambridge, June 17; Kent Island, June 18 and 19; and Chestertown, June 23 and 25.
In keeping with the Elizabethan-era theatergoing experience, performances of Midsummer will be staged outdoors.
The Company will hold auditions in late March at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts in Centreville. Rogers is looking to cast approximately a dozen men and women to fill all roles. Shore Shakespeare Company encourages anyone who is interested, regardless of experience, to audition.
