Shake­speare group names spring tour

RIDGELY — Shore Shake­speare Com­pany has an­nounced its Spring 2017 tour pro­duc­tion of “A Mid­sum­mer Night’s Dream,” by Wil­liam Shake­speare. The pro­duc­tion will be di­rected by Chris Rogers and pro­duced by She­lagh Grasso.

The Com­pany’s fifth tour pro­duc­tion, “A Mid­sum­mer Night’s Dream” will open at Ad­kins Ar­bore­tum in Ridgely on June 2 and will close its run at Wilmer Park in Ch­ester­town on June 25. A to­tal of 11 per­for­mances at six sep­a­rate venues are slated to in­clude the fol­low­ing: Ridgely, June 2, 3, and 4; Ox­ford, June 9 and 10; Eas­ton, June 11; Cam­bridge, June 17; Kent Is­land, June 18 and 19; and Ch­ester­town, June 23 and 25.

In keep­ing with the El­iz­a­bethan-era the­ater­go­ing ex­pe­ri­ence, per­for­mances of Mid­sum­mer will be staged out­doors.

The Com­pany will hold au­di­tions in late March at the Queen Anne’s County Cen­tre for the Arts in Centreville. Rogers is look­ing to cast ap­prox­i­mately a dozen men and women to fill all roles. Shore Shake­speare Com­pany en­cour­ages any­one who is in­ter­ested, re­gard­less of ex­pe­ri­ence, to au­di­tion.
