Tay­lor elected board pres­i­dent

CENTREVILLE — At the reg­u­lar meet­ing of the Queen Anne’s County Board of Ed­u­ca­tion on Wed­nes­day, Dec. 14, in a closed bal­lot vote by fel­low board mem­bers, Bishop Ar­lene Tay­lor was named Board of Ed­u­ca­tion Pres­i­dent and Annette DiMag­gio was named Vice Pres­i­dent.

“I will try my very best to serve the peo­ple of Queen Anne’s County with all hu­mil­ity,” said Tay­lor.

Ev­ery De­cem­ber, a vote is cast amongst the five board mem­bers to choose a pres­i­dent and vice pres­i­dent. Tay­lor and DiMag­gio have been serv­ing on the Board of Ed­u­ca­tion since De­cem­ber of 2014. Tay­lor was elected At Large and DiMag­gio for District 1.

Tay­lor re­placed the in­cum­bent pres­i­dent, Jen­nifer George, who will con­tinue to serve on the board as a mem­ber.

Other board mem­bers are Cap­tain Bev­erly Kel­ley, District 3, and Sharyn Har­low, District 4.
