Taylor elected board president
CENTREVILLE — At the regular meeting of the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education on Wednesday, Dec. 14, in a closed ballot vote by fellow board members, Bishop Arlene Taylor was named Board of Education President and Annette DiMaggio was named Vice President.
“I will try my very best to serve the people of Queen Anne’s County with all humility,” said Taylor.
Every December, a vote is cast amongst the five board members to choose a president and vice president. Taylor and DiMaggio have been serving on the Board of Education since December of 2014. Taylor was elected At Large and DiMaggio for District 1.
Taylor replaced the incumbent president, Jennifer George, who will continue to serve on the board as a member.
Other board members are Captain Beverly Kelley, District 3, and Sharyn Harlow, District 4.
