Stevensville man charged with as­sault

GRA­SONVILLE — A Stevensville man was charged with sec­ond de­gree as­sault in con­nec­tion with an in­ci­dent with his for­mer girl­friend on Nov. 4, ac­cord­ing to the Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

Po­lice were dis­patched to the 100 block of Gravel Run Road, Gra­sonville, for a ver­bal do­mes­tic in­ci­dent that turned phys­i­cal as the of­fi­cer was in route.

On ar­rival, the of­fi­cer lo­cated a male sit­ting in a pas­sen­ger car with a fe­male stand­ing out­side the car yelling. The two were sep­a­rated and in­ter­viewed. The male said the fe­male had struck him sev­eral times but there were no ev­i­dence of in­juries.

The fe­male said the male had driven her to her res­i­dence and en­tered the home, yelling at her, and then struck her on the side of her face, caus­ing her to bite her lip which was bleed­ing.

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion in­di­cated the two had bro­ken up that day via text mes­sage.

The male, iden­ti­fied as Jef­frey Lamont Black, 30, of Stevensville, was charged with sec­ond de­gree as­sault.
