Police traffic stop nets drug arrest
STEVENSVILLE — A police traffic stop resulted in the seizure of suspected marijuana and the arrest of the driver on Nov. 3 on Old Love Point Road at Larch Place, according to the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office.
A black Ford Fusion with two occupants was stopped for an equipment violation. While speaking with the driver, police noticed a strong smell of alleged marijuana.
The driver, Cody David Powers, 23, of Stevensville was asked to exit the vehicle. A search resulted in locating two alleged mouthpieces to a bong in his pocket. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a plastic bong and a large plastic baggie with over 10 grams of suspected marijuana.
Powers allegedly admitted that the bong and suspected marijuana were his. Nothing was located in the possession of the passenger who was later released at the scene.
Police charged Powers with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
