Po­lice traf­fic stop nets drug ar­rest

STEVENSVILLE — A po­lice traf­fic stop re­sulted in the seizure of sus­pected mar­i­juana and the ar­rest of the driver on Nov. 3 on Old Love Point Road at Larch Place, ac­cord­ing to the Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice.

A black Ford Fu­sion with two oc­cu­pants was stopped for an equip­ment vi­o­la­tion. While speak­ing with the driver, po­lice no­ticed a strong smell of al­leged mar­i­juana.

The driver, Cody David Pow­ers, 23, of Stevensville was asked to exit the ve­hi­cle. A search re­sulted in lo­cat­ing two al­leged mouth­pieces to a bong in his pocket. A search of the ve­hi­cle re­sulted in the seizure of a plas­tic bong and a large plas­tic bag­gie with over 10 grams of sus­pected mar­i­juana.

Pow­ers al­legedly ad­mit­ted that the bong and sus­pected mar­i­juana were his. Noth­ing was lo­cated in the pos­ses­sion of the pas­sen­ger who was later re­leased at the scene.

Po­lice charged Pow­ers with pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana and pos­ses­sion of mar­i­juana with in­tent to dis­trib­ute.
