Los Taxes tax ser­vice opens in Cen­tre­ville

CEN­TRE­VILLE — Los Taxes tax prepa­ra­tion ser­vices held its grand open­ing Thurs­day, Dec. 29. Los Taxes is the first and only Latino network of tax cen­ters in the U.S., specif­i­cally ser­vic­ing the grow­ing Latino com­mu­nity across the na­tion.

Los Taxes fran­chises were founded in 2007 by com­pany Pres­i­dent and CEO Javier N. So­lis, who was present for the Cen­tre­ville grand open­ing. The com­pany’s fo­cus is of­fer­ing a cul­tur­ally sen­si­tive ser­vice, meet­ing the needs of the Latino com­mu­nity in ref­er­ence to tax prepa­ra­tion and fi­nan­cial ser­vices “in a busi­ness en­vi­ron­ment that makes their clients feel very com­fort­able.”

Queen Anne’s County res­i­dents Daniel and Aidy Jef­fers have opened this fran­chise of­fice, lo­cated at 121 East Wa­ter St., al­most di­rectly across the street from the Cen­tre­ville Post Of­fice.

The Los Taxes mis­sion state­ment reads: “To pro­vide hon­est and re­li­able in­come tax prepa­ra­tion ser­vice to the Latino com­mu­nity in a cul­tur­ally sen­si­tive of­fice en­vi­ron­ment where tax­pay­ers can find fi­nan­cial as­sis­tance in their lan­guage and culture of­fered by trained tax prac­ti­tion­ers whose in­tegrity and re­spect to sys­tem reg­u­la­tions are above all.”

Min­i­mum fees for the sim­plest tax re­turn forms begin at $60.

Reg­u­lar hours are 3 to 9 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Satur­day and Sun­day. Hours dur­ing tax sea­son are 3 to 11 p.m. Mon­day through Fri­day and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Satur­day and Sun­day. Ap­point­ments and walk-in. Walk-ins will com­plete in­take and set up ap­point­ment.
