Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege to honor law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als

Recog­ni­tion to take place at Jan. 11 hoop dou­ble­header

WYE MILLS — Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege has in­vited law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als from po­lice and sher­iff’s de­part­ments in all five Mid-Shore coun­ties to be rec­og­nized at a men’s and women’s bas­ket­ball dou­ble­header on Jan­uary 11th.

All lo­cal law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als from Caro­line, Dorch­ester, Kent, Queen Anne’s and Tal­bot coun­ties have been in­vit- ed to at­tend the dou­ble­header against Fred­er­ick Com­mu­nity Col­lege, with the women’s game at 5 p.m. and the men’s game at 7 p.m. Law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als will re­ceive free ad­mis­sion along with free hot dogs and drinks from the ath­let­ics con­ces­sion staff. Those of­fi­cers present will also be rec­og­nized dur­ing half­time of the men’s game.

“Law en­force­ment pro­fes­sion­als have a dif­fi­cult and of­ten dan­ger­ous job,” said Dr. Bar­bara Viniar, Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege’s pres­i­dent. “We want to rec­og­nize their ser­vice to our com­mu­nity.”
