FRIDAY Because of the interior renovation work going on, the library in Centreville will be closed all day Friday, Feb. 3. As the work continues in the library, there will be days when we will have to close, and we will attempt to notify the patrons in advance. The work will be continuing through mid-March. Call if you are any distance from the library to be sure we are open.
••• COMPUTER CLASSES The library will have two free computer classes in February. These one-on-one workshops will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at 9 and 10 a.m. and again on Thursday, Feb. 16, at 3, 4 and 5 p.m. You can pick your time and also pick your topic: computers for beginners, Microsoft programs, Windows 8, Windows 10, Internet, email, library services, tablets and smartphones.
••• COOK BOOK CLUB You can sign up now for our new food/recipe-sharing club to be held in the library on Wednesday, March 15, at 6 p.m. Do you love cooking or baking? Are you always on the lookout for a great recipes? Join the cook book exchange for inspirations, good food and great conversation. ••• 50-CENT MUSIC CDS In the main reading room you will find a cart full of music CDs; pick out as many as you want for 50-cents each or three for a dollar. There are also more free books on another cart to look over and take home.
••• MATINEE MOVIE Tom Hanks stars in the movie “Sully,” to be shown at the library on Friday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m. It is free and there will even be free refreshments served.
