SAL­IS­BURY — Eleanor M. McNeal, 95, of Sal­is­bury, MD, passed away Satur­day, Fe­bru­ary 4, 2017 at Univer­sity of Mary­land Med­i­cal Cen­ter. Born June 1, 1921 in Sal­is­bury, she was the daugh­ter of the late Ernest and Lula Hobbs.

Eleanor was a mem­ber of Bethesda United Methodist Church for over 70 years. An Alumni of Me­mo­rial Hos­pi­tal in Wilm­ing­ton, she worked as a nurse at Penin­sula Re­gional Med­i­cal Cen­ter un­til her re­tire­ment in 1984. She was a mem­ber of the East­ern Star. She was a lov­ing wife, mother, grand­mother, and great-grand­mother, who en­joyed spend­ing time with all of her fam­ily and friends.

She is sur­vived by her daugh­ter, Bar­bara A. Wil­gus and her hus­band Elmer of Sal­is­bury; son, Richard E. McNeal and his wife Har­ri­ett of Cen­tre­ville; six grand­chil­dren; 15 great-grand­chil­dren; one great-great-grand­daugh­ter; and sev­eral nieces and neph­ews. She was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, O. Richard McNeal in 2004; and twin sis­ter, Eve­lyn Rose.

A Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held Satur­day 11 a.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the ser­vice. Rev. Bob Miller and Rev. Dr. Dan Rich will of­fi­ci­ate. Eleanor was in­terred in Springhill Mem­ory Gar­dens with her hus­band.
