Eleanor M. McNeal
SALISBURY — Eleanor M. McNeal, 95, of Salisbury, MD, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2017 at University of Maryland Medical Center. Born June 1, 1921 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lula Hobbs.
Eleanor was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church for over 70 years. An Alumni of Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, she worked as a nurse at Peninsula Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of the Eastern Star. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who enjoyed spending time with all of her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara A. Wilgus and her husband Elmer of Salisbury; son, Richard E. McNeal and his wife Harriett of Centreville; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, O. Richard McNeal in 2004; and twin sister, Evelyn Rose.
A Celebration of Eleanor’s Life will be held Saturday 11 a.m. at Bethesda United Methodist Church, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bob Miller and Rev. Dr. Dan Rich will officiate. Eleanor was interred in Springhill Memory Gardens with her husband.
