CWN wel­comes schol­ar­ship ap­pli­ca­tions

STEVENSVILLE — The Ch­e­sa­peake Women’s Net­work of Queen Anne’s County is seek­ing ap­pli­cants for its 2017 schol­ar­ship pro­gram, for which schol­ar­ships will be awarded in June. To be con­sid­ered for the schol­ar­ship pro­gram, ap­pli­cants must be women at least 22 years old and cit­i­zens of the United States, hav­ing le­gal res­i­dence in Queen Anne’s County and/or work in Queen Anne’s County.

In ad­di­tion, ap­pli­cants must be high school grad­u­ates or have earned a GED; they must be of­fi­cially ac­cepted (or in the ac­cep­tance process) into an ac­cred­ited pro­gram or cer­tifi­cate pro­gram at a United States col­lege or univer­sity; they must carry a min­i­mum of 3 cred­its per se­mes­ter; and they can­not be in the process of earn­ing a doc­toral-level de­gree such as a PhD, MD, DDS, DVM or JD. Ap­pli­cants must demon­strate fi­nan­cial needs and clear ca­reer goals and ob­jec­tives.

Queen Anne’s County CWN is an or­ga­ni­za­tion of pro­fes­sional women that seeks to fa­cil­i­tate en­rich­ment and pro­fes­sional growth through com­mu­ni­ca­tion and sup­port while stim­u­lat­ing busi­ness op­por­tu­ni­ties for pro­fes­sional women in the com­mu­nity. The or­ga­ni­za­tion’s main phi­lan­thropy is pro­vid­ing schol­ar­ships for women 22 years of age and older who live and/or work in Queen Anne’s County and are re­turn­ing to school in pur­suit of col­lege de­grees.

CWN firmly be­lieves in help­ing women im­prove their cir­cum­stances and their fi­nan­cial fu­tures through higher ed­u­ca­tion, there­fore, the or­ga­ni­za­tion seeks schol­ar­ship ap­pli­cants who are re-en­ter­ing col­lege or re­turn­ing to the job mar­ket.
