CENTREVILLE — Lor­raine C. Cook of Centreville, Md., passed away on Fe­bru­ary 18, 2017 at her home on the fam­ily farm, sur­rounded by her fam­ily. She was 83.

Born on July 17, 1933 in Queen Anne, Md., the daugh­ter of the late Hazel and Lil­lian Con­nolly Call­away. She grew up in Queen Anne and Centreville and grad­u­ated from Centreville High School, Class of 1951.

Lor­raine mar­ried Howard T. Cook on Aug. 23, 1952 and they moved to Centreville. She worked for the State of Mary­land Tax­a­tion and As­sess­ment of­fice in Centreville for 30 years. Lor­raine loved the out­doors, watch­ing her chil­dren and grand­chil­dren play sports and spend­ing time with her fam­ily.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, Howard T. Cook of Centreville, Md.; daugh­ter, Su­san C. Wolff (Bob) of Centreville; son, Tom Cook (Laura) of Centreville; six grand­chil­dren: Jake Cook (Shaena); Ju­lia Cook; Tyler Wolff; Joey Wolff (Re­nee); Chris Wolf (Katie); Scott Wolff (Rachel); four great grand­chil­dren: Sa­van­nah; Luke; Cooper and Leah. In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, Lor­raine was pre­de­ceased by her sis­ter, Cather­ine Cook; and brother, Hazel “Toby” Call­away.

Ser­vices were held on Thurs­day, Fe­bru­ary 23, 1 p.m. at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Funeral Home, P.A., where a vis­i­ta­tion was held be­gin­ning at 11 a.m. Burial fol­lowed in the Ch­ester­field Ceme­tery.

Mr. Plum­mer worked as a self­em­ployed waterman for sev­eral years un­til tak­ing a job with Long Cove Ma­rina. He worked side by side with Mort Deck­el­man for the past 40 years. Mr. Plum­mer was known for his knack of find­ing fish and loved fish­ing on his boat, “Lil Noel.” He also en­joyed hunt­ing.

In ad­di­tion to his wife, Nancy, he is sur­vived by a daugh­ter, Melissa Plum­mer Win­borne of Wil­low Grove, Del.; two sons, Jackie Plum­mer and wife Hilda of Ch­ester­town and Jamie Plum­mer and wife Anne of Rock Hall; two sis­ters, Es­ther Har­ri­son of Rock Hall and Mary Jane Har­ri­son of Louisiana; and seven grand­chil­dren, April, Michael, Noel, Amanda, Jamie, Charles Nik­er­son Jr. and Eli Yoder. He was pre­de­ceased by a sis­ter, Min­nie Mae Hep­bron.

Funeral ser­vices were held Mon­day, Feb. 20, at Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Funeral Home, Ch­ester­town,.

A vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sun­day, Feb. 26, at Fel­lows Fam­ily Funeral Home, 370 Cy­press St., Milling­ton. Ser­vices will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. In­ter­ment will fol­low at Crump­ton Ceme­tery in Crump­ton.
