GRASONVILLE — Due to increased attendance, the Queen Anne’s County Democratic Club has moved its meeting location to the Grasonville Community Center, 5601 Main Street in Grasonville.

The next meeting will be held March 2 at 6:30 p.m.; refresments will be served. The speaker will be Dr. Frank Alduino, professor of history, winner of the NISOD Teaching Excellence Award, and member of the Democratic Club.

Alduino teaches history and political science at Anne Arundel Community College. He has published articles on the role of Italian Americans during the Prohibition Era in Florida, and participated in the New York Historical Society’s “Italians of New York: Five Centuries of Struggle and Achievement.” In 2007, his account of Italian Americans in the Civil War was published as “Sons of Garibaldi in Blue and Gray: Italians in the American Civil War.” Alduino’s account of the trials of one ethnic group entering the United States during a time of great stress could hold lessons on the challenges of immigrants in our lifetime.

The QA Democratic Club urges residents to work with them to build a visible and robust Democratic party in Queen Anne’s County.
