Kent Island High School presents ‘Cinderella’
STEVENSVILLE — Kent Island High School’s drama department presents Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” as its spring musical. The show opens in the school auditorium Thursday night, March 2, and includes more than 130 students both on and off the stage, said musical director Kevin Reagan.
Chorepgraphy is by Amber Wright; vocal direction by Jennifer Butler. Thomas Ellis was in charge of technical building, and orchestra pit conducting is by Kim Mogensen.
The show is double cast with the Blue Cast performing at 7 p.m. March 2, March 4 and March 11 and the Silver Cast performing at 7 p.m. March 3 and March 10 and at 2 p.m. March 12.
Cinderella is alternately played by Clara Groves and Ally Sweiderk, and Topher (the prince) by Jacob Ward and Crispin Blampin.
Tickets are available online at kihigh.org. Admission is $15 for adults, $10 for students.
In partnership with Adam’s Grill, which is providing the catering, a special character dinner is offered at the high school from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 4, before the show. Doors open at 5:20.
The adult meal includes pork barbecue and brisket slider, cole slaw, pasta salad, roll, dessert and beverage for $13. The children’s meal includes chicken tenders, applesauce, chips, dessert and beverage for $6. Tickets also available online.
