Kent Is­land High School presents ‘Cin­derella’

STEVENSVILLE — Kent Is­land High School’s drama de­part­ment presents Rodgers and Ham­mer­stein’s “Cin­derella” as its spring mu­si­cal. The show opens in the school au­di­to­rium Thurs­day night, March 2, and in­cludes more than 130 stu­dents both on and off the stage, said mu­si­cal di­rec­tor Kevin Rea­gan.

Chorepg­ra­phy is by Am­ber Wright; vo­cal di­rec­tion by Jen­nifer Butler. Thomas El­lis was in charge of tech­ni­cal build­ing, and orches­tra pit con­duct­ing is by Kim Mo­gensen.

The show is dou­ble cast with the Blue Cast per­form­ing at 7 p.m. March 2, March 4 and March 11 and the Sil­ver Cast per­form­ing at 7 p.m. March 3 and March 10 and at 2 p.m. March 12.

Cin­derella is al­ter­nately played by Clara Groves and Ally Swei­derk, and To­pher (the prince) by Ja­cob Ward and Crispin Blampin.

Tick­ets are avail­able on­line at ki­high.org. Ad­mis­sion is $15 for adults, $10 for stu­dents.

In part­ner­ship with Adam’s Grill, which is pro­vid­ing the cater­ing, a spe­cial char­ac­ter din­ner is of­fered at the high school from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Satur­day, March 4, be­fore the show. Doors open at 5:20.

The adult meal in­cludes pork bar­be­cue and brisket slider, cole slaw, pasta salad, roll, dessert and bev­er­age for $13. The chil­dren’s meal in­cludes chicken ten­ders, ap­ple­sauce, chips, dessert and bev­er­age for $6. Tick­ets also avail­able on­line.
