County of­fers new ways to pay your bills

CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County cit­i­zens may now pay real prop­erty tax and wa­ter and sewer bills on­line at Prop­erty Tax To pay your prop­erty tax bill you will need either the 10-digit Prop­erty ID or the prop­erty ad­dress.

There are ad­di­tional fees for this ser­vice. The new Real Prop­erty Tax Pay­ment Sys­tem fees are col­lected by an out­side ven­dor and will ap­pear as a sec­ond charge on your state­ment.

There are sev­eral ways to pay, each with a dif­fer­ent cost. The least ex­pen­sive is to pay by E-Checks, and there is a flat fee of 50 cents. To pay by credit and debit cards, there is a fee of 2.39 per­cent of the amount charged. Wa­ter and Sewer Bills In ad­di­tion to pay­ing your wa­ter and sewer bill on­line, you may also pay via phone by call­ing 844-241-6740.

Whether pay­ing wa­ter and sewer bills on­line or by phone there are ad­di­tional out­side ven­dor charges that will ap­pear on your bill.

Again, E-Checks cost 50 cents. Credit and debit cards will be charged $2.25 for transactions up to $150 or $6.25 for transactions over $150.

Utility billing transactions are lim­ited to $400; how­ever, you may make mul­ti­ple pay­ments

Cit­i­zens can also now pay by credit/debit card at the Trea­sury counter of the Fi­nance of­fice at 107 N. Lib­erty St. in Centreville and pay for per­mits at the Plan­ning and Zon­ing Of­fice at 110 Vincit St. in Centreville.

The new on­line pay­ment op­tions went live Feb. 27.
