Jacki Carter hon­ored with schol­ar­ship fund

STEVENSVILLE — Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties has estab­lished a schol­ar­ship fund in mem­ory of Jac­que­lyn “Jacki” Carter.

Carter re­tired in 2015 from her po­si­tion as di­rec­tor of Char­ac­ter Counts of Queen Anne’s County.

Mary Ann Glea­son, grant spe­cial­ist for Ch­e­sa­peake Char­i­ties said, “We are in­spired by Jacki’s ded­i­ca­tion to Char­ac­ter Counts and the dif­fer­ence she made for the chil­dren and fam­i­lies of Queen Anne’s County. She truly made our com­mu­nity a bet­ter place to live.” Af­ter re­tir­ing, Carter re­mained very ac­tive as a vol­un­teer for sev­eral lo­cal or­ga­ni­za­tions.

The schol­ar­ship fund in her name will sup­port the work of in­di­vid­u­als who vol­un­teer their time for the benefit of chil­dren and fam­i­lies in Queen Anne’s County and/or for stu­dents pur­su­ing higher ed­u­ca­tion.
