CENTREVILLE — The Queen Anne’s Board of County Com­mis­sion­ers made ap­point­ments to both the So­cial Ser­vices Ad­vi­sory Board and the Mid Shore Be­hav­ioral Health Board dur­ing its Tues­day, Feb. 28, meet­ing.

The com­mis­sion unan­i­mously voted Kathy Mar­in­ucci and Jac­que­line Veeney to serve on the So­cial Ser­vices Ad­vi­sory Board be­gin­ning im­me­di­ately and end­ing on June 30, 2020.

Cre­ated by the state in 1967, the board serves in an ad­vi­sory role to the di­rec­tor of the Depart­ment of So­cial Ser­vices and voices com­mu­nity con­cerns in a li­ai­son role. In the need of ap­point­ing a new di­rec­tor, board mem­bers par­tic­i­pate in the se­lec­tion process.

Due to a res­ig­na­tion from Queen Anne’s County Fam­ily Mag­is­trate Jean Meta from the Mid Shore Be­hav­ioral Health Board, the com­mis­sion voted to ap­point at-large mem­ber Stir­ling Ward, a county Board of Ed­u­ca­tion em­ployee, to serve the re­main­der of the term. The term ends on Dec. 31, 2018.
