CENTREVILLE — The Queen Anne’s Board of County Commissioners made appointments to both the Social Services Advisory Board and the Mid Shore Behavioral Health Board during its Tuesday, Feb. 28, meeting.
The commission unanimously voted Kathy Marinucci and Jacqueline Veeney to serve on the Social Services Advisory Board beginning immediately and ending on June 30, 2020.
Created by the state in 1967, the board serves in an advisory role to the director of the Department of Social Services and voices community concerns in a liaison role. In the need of appointing a new director, board members participate in the selection process.
Due to a resignation from Queen Anne’s County Family Magistrate Jean Meta from the Mid Shore Behavioral Health Board, the commission voted to appoint at-large member Stirling Ward, a county Board of Education employee, to serve the remainder of the term. The term ends on Dec. 31, 2018.
