Schools name win­ners to be hon­ored at gala

CENTREVILLE — Queen Anne’s County Pub­lic Schools has an­nounced the Out­stand­ing Achieve­ment Award win­ners to be rec­og­nized at the 13th an­nual awards gala on April 7. The win­ners were se­lected from those nom­i­na­tions made by fel­low staff, par­ents and com­mu­nity mem­bers.

From the ad­min­is­tra­tion, “Con­grat­u­la­tions to all! We are be­yond proud and priv­i­leged to have such great em­ploy­ees and vol­un­teers here in Queen Anne’s County...we have a great group of em­ploy­ees that de­serve to be rec­og­nized for their hard work, ded­i­ca­tion and pos­i­tive at­ti­tude that makes work­ing for Queen Anne’s County Pub­lic Schools so re­ward­ing.”

The win­ners are as fol­lows:

Out­stand­ing New Teacher: Amanda Shuck­hart, Stevensville Mid­dle School

Out­stand­ing Bus Driver: Sharon Porter

Sodexo Em­ployee of the Year: Heather Cox, Stevensville Mid­dle School

Com­mu­nity Vol­un­teer/s of the Year: Beth and Brian Fran­cis, Centreville Ele­men­tar y School

Coach/Ad­viser of the Year: Jami Wilt, Kent Is­land High School

Out­stand­ing Ed­u­ca­tional Spe­cial­ist: Linda Gent, Centreville El­e­men­tary School

Out­stand­ing Op­er­a­tional Em­ployee: Charles Brooks, Centreville El­e­men­tary School

Sec­re­tary of the Year: Mary Bal­lard, Mat­a­peake Ele­men­tar y School

Para-Ed­u­ca­tor of the Year: Tina Martin, Queen Anne’s County High School
