Lula Blanche Thomp­son Sat­ter­field

SUDLERSVILLE — Lula Blanche Thomp­son Sat­ter­field of Sudlersville, MD, on March 10, 2017, at the age of 96, flew to Heaven on but­ter­fly wings.

Mrs. Sat­ter­field was born Feb. 15, 1921, near Barclay, MD, the daugh­ter of the late Wil­liam T. Thomp­son and Mae Gray Thomp­son. She was a life­long res­i­dent of Queen Anne’s County where she drove a school bus for 22 years. She was a faith­ful mem­ber of Cal­vary As­bury United Methodist Church and en­joyed at­tend­ing Home­com­ings at Bu­sick Church. She was a past mem­ber of the Sudlersville Homemak­ers, Bet­ter­ment Club and Top of the Hill Club. She en­joyed sewing, knit­ting, read­ing, fam­ily his­tory and go­ing to Thomp­son fam­ily re­unions.

In ad­di­tion to her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her hus­band, Aldrich “Dickie” Sat­ter­field; two sons: Charles A. Sat­ter­field and Ron­ald “Reg­gie” Sat­ter­field; two sis­ters: Beatrice Ann Hurd and Eleanor Wise McDon­ald; and her brother, Sa­muel C. Thomp­son.

“Miss Lula” is sur­vived by one son, Wil­liam “Billy” Sat­ter­field of Sudlersville; a daugther-in-law, Nancy Sat­ter­field Wheeler (Woody) of De­catur, AL; five grand­chil­dren: David Sat­ter­field of Sudlersville, Suzanne Har­ris (Jeff) of Smyrna, DE, Ge­orge Sat­ter­field (Deb­bie) of Mag­no­lia, DE, Va­lerie Edge (Ron­nie) of Mag­no­lia, James Sat­ter­field (Beth) of Dover, DE; 24 great-grand­chil­dren; 14 great-great-grand­chil­dren; and many friends.

A grave­side ser vice will be held Fri­day, March 17, 2:30 p.m. at Sudlersville Ceme­tery in Sudlersville, MD.
