DOVER, DEL. — Anna Lu­cille Tate of Dover, Del., for­merly of Milling­ton, died Thurs­day, March 9, 2017, at the West­min­ster Nurs­ing Home in Dover. She was 79.

Anna Lu­cille Tate was born May 9, 1937 in Pond­town, the daugh­ter of the late We­ston Duck­ery and Ida “Tiller” Duck­ery. She at­tended Gar­nett High School through the 11th grade. Mrs. Tate mar­ried early in life to Authur Demp­ster Tate in 1954.

Through­out her life she spent most of her time as a home­maker, how­ever she did work pe­ri­od­i­cally as a care­giver; in food ser­vice, for Camp­bell Soup and Up­per Shore Com­mu­nity Health Cen­ter; and also as a house­keeper.

She was a past mem­ber of the Gospel Church of God and en­joyed Bi­ble study, watch­ing TV and talk­ing on the phone with friends. She was an avid reader.

She is sur­vived by her chil­dren, Arthur Tate of Smyrna, Del., Eileen Wil­liams of Dover, Sarah Gibbs of San An­to­nio, Texas and Brian Tate of Ch­ester­town; son-in-law, Moses Gibbs of San An­to­nio; three grand­chil­dren, Ja’na Tate, Von­cel Tate and Joshua Wil­liams; two sis­ters, Shirley Lively of Milling­ton and Eve­lyn Foster of Milling­ton; and one brother, Wil­liam Duck­ery; as well as a host of cousins, nieces and neph­ews.

Ser­vices will be held at 11 a.m. Satur­day, March 18, at Fel­lows Fam­ily Funeral Home. A vis­i­ta­tion will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In­ter­ment will fol­low the ser­vice in Ch­ester­ville Ceme­tery in Milling­ton.
