DOVER, DEL. — Anna Lucille Tate of Dover, Del., formerly of Millington, died Thursday, March 9, 2017, at the Westminster Nursing Home in Dover. She was 79.
Anna Lucille Tate was born May 9, 1937 in Pondtown, the daughter of the late Weston Duckery and Ida “Tiller” Duckery. She attended Garnett High School through the 11th grade. Mrs. Tate married early in life to Authur Dempster Tate in 1954.
Throughout her life she spent most of her time as a homemaker, however she did work periodically as a caregiver; in food service, for Campbell Soup and Upper Shore Community Health Center; and also as a housekeeper.
She was a past member of the Gospel Church of God and enjoyed Bible study, watching TV and talking on the phone with friends. She was an avid reader.
She is survived by her children, Arthur Tate of Smyrna, Del., Eileen Williams of Dover, Sarah Gibbs of San Antonio, Texas and Brian Tate of Chestertown; son-in-law, Moses Gibbs of San Antonio; three grandchildren, Ja’na Tate, Voncel Tate and Joshua Williams; two sisters, Shirley Lively of Millington and Evelyn Foster of Millington; and one brother, William Duckery; as well as a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 18, at Fellows Family Funeral Home. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Interment will follow the service in Chesterville Cemetery in Millington.
