QACHS alumni of­fer­ing three $1000 schol­ar­ships

CENTREVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County High School Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion will award three $1,000 schol­ar­ships in May 2017 to de­serv­ing high school grad­u­ates to fur­ther their ed­u­ca­tion at in­sti­tu­tions of higher learn­ing.

Ap­pli­cants must be cur­rent mem­bers of the QACHS Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion, a di­rect de­scen­dant or a legally adopted de­scen­dant (child or grand­child) of a mem­ber of the QACHS Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion, and must be in good stand­ing. Ap­pli­cants must be of­fi­cially ac­cepted into an ac­cred­ited pro­gram or cer­tifi­cate pro­gram at a U.S. col­lege or univer­sity.

Selections will be made by the QACHS Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion Schol­ar­ship Se­lec­tion Com­mit­tee. The of­fi­cial awards will be pre­sented in May.

This schol­ar­ship is not re­new­able and is not open to pre­vi­ous QACHS Alumni As­so­ci­a­tion schol­ar­ship re­cip­i­ents. Pre­vi­ous ap­pli­cants who did not re­ceive this schol­ar­ship may reap­ply.

The re­cip­i­ent will be re­quired to no­tify the alumni as­so­ci­a­tion of his/her fi­nal school choice. The award will be sent di­rectly to the col­lege upon ver­i­fi­ca­tion of the stu­dent’s en­roll­ment. Ap­pli­ca­tions may be ob­tained from the guid­ance of­fices of Queen Anne’s County High School or Kent Is­land High School. Ap­pli­ca­tions for stu­dents from other schools or for for­mer grad­u­ates also may be down­loaded from the QACHS Par­ents web­site at qacps.school­wires.net/do­main/1572.

Com­pleted ap­pli­ca­tion pack­ages must be post­marked by April 15. Late ap­pli­ca­tions will not be con­sid­ered.
