Demo­cratic Club to meet April 6

GRASONVILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Demo­cratic Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thurs­day, April 6, at the Grasonville Com­mu­nity Cen­ter.

Pol­i­tics is lo­cal — county com­mis­sioner, or­phan’s court, town coun­cil. If you have ever thought about run­ning for of­fice, this meet­ing will set you on the path for a “how-to” train­ing course. If you want to sup­port Demo­cratic can­di­dates, this meet­ing will open the door on how to do so ef fec­tively, with spe­cific train­ing, spon­sored by the DCC, in the near fu­ture.

Fea­tured speak­ers will be at­tor­ney Ni­cole Wil­liams, from Emerge Maryland, an in-depth train­ing pro­gram for Demo­cratic women seek­ing elected of­fice, and Keith Pres­ley, the State Direc­tor of En­gage­ment for the Maryland Demo­cratic Party, on the lo­gis­tics of can­di­date sup­port.

April be­gins the club’s Char­ity of the Month ini­tia­tive. Haven Min­istries, which the club sup­ports at Christ­mas, needs sup­por t year round. Bring a gro­cery bag of non-per­ish­able food items — canned food, ce­re­als, pasta, etc. — to the meet­ing.
