Stu­dents par­tic­i­pate in Fu­ture Chef Chal­lenge

GRASONVILLE — Four Grasonville El­e­men­tary School fi­nal­ists par­tic­i­pated in Sodexo’s “Fu­ture Chef Chal­lenge.” This con­test chal­lenges fu­ture chefs to use their cre­ativ­ity and culi­nary skills to make healthy, com­fort food recipes.

The stu­dents sub­mit­ted de­tailed recipes and worked with Sodexo em­ploy­ees, a food ser­vices and fa­cil­i­ties man­age­ment com­pany, to cre­ate their yummy recipes. The stu­dents were judged by var­i­ous fac­ulty mem­bers at the school along with Sodexo em­ploy­ees.

Kaitlin Kee­gan made a batch of her “Kady’s Chicken Soup.” Sa­man­tha Judge worked hard and made her “Ap­ple Zuc­chini Mini Muffins.” Sec­ond place fin­isher Hunter Wooten made his com­bi­na­tion of grilled cheese roll-ups paired with to­mato soup. Cara Steele, sliced and diced her way to a first place fin­ish with her break­fast bur­rito. All of the stu­dents won var­i­ous culi­nary prizes given to them from Sodexo.
