Comedy Playhouse trip planned
CENTREVILLE — Adults of any age are invited to join this day trip to the Rainbow Comedy Playhouse in Paradise, Pa., on Wednesday, May 3.
“Running Mates” is a new comedy that revolves around a husband-wife rivalry as they run against each other to become the mayor of their small town, according to Rainbow Comedy Playhouse’s website.
“Sam Storm has been the mayor of his small town for 20 years, always running unopposed. All that is about to change when he accidentally offends the opposite sex. This election year, he will have a contender for his office...his own wife. No matter who you vote for — Dave or Cindy — we’ll promise you winning laughs all the way,” the website says.
Queen Anne’s County Senior Centers are offering this day trip, open to ages 21 and over. The $82 cost per person includes motor coach transportation, show tickets, a meal and lots of laughs. Coffee, hot/cold tea and water are included in the ticket price.
All Rainbow Playhouse taxes and meal gratuities are included and a cash bar is available. A $30 deposit due at the time of sign-up is required. The last day to register is April 5 and final payments due April 26.
Pick-up/drop-off locations are at Grasonville Senior Center, Kent Island Senior Center and Sudlersville Senior Center. The approximate timeline for the day is as follows: depart Kent Island at 8:15 a.m., Grasonville at 8:30 a.m. and Sudlersville at 9:15 a.m. Arrive at the theater at 11:15 a.m. with the show beginning at 1 p.m. Departure from the theater is expected at about 3:30 p.m.
Volunteers are sought to act as trip chaperones on a first come first serve basis, Senior Center Administrator Anne Sparks said. As compensation, volunteers will attend free of charge. Contact the office for more information.
