CENTREVILLE — Adults of any age are in­vited to join this day trip to the Rain­bow Com­edy Play­house in Par­adise, Pa., on Wed­nes­day, May 3.

“Run­ning Mates” is a new com­edy that re­volves around a hus­band-wife ri­valry as they run against each other to be­come the mayor of their small town, ac­cord­ing to Rain­bow Com­edy Play­house’s web­site.

“Sam Storm has been the mayor of his small town for 20 years, al­ways run­ning un­op­posed. All that is about to change when he ac­ci­den­tally of­fends the op­po­site sex. This elec­tion year, he will have a con­tender for his of­fice...his own wife. No mat­ter who you vote for — Dave or Cindy — we’ll prom­ise you win­ning laughs all the way,” the web­site says.

Queen Anne’s County Se­nior Cen­ters are of­fer­ing this day trip, open to ages 21 and over. The $82 cost per per­son in­cludes mo­tor coach trans­porta­tion, show tick­ets, a meal and lots of laughs. Cof­fee, hot/cold tea and wa­ter are in­cluded in the ticket price.

All Rain­bow Play­house taxes and meal gra­tu­ities are in­cluded and a cash bar is avail­able. A $30 de­posit due at the time of sign-up is re­quired. The last day to reg­is­ter is April 5 and fi­nal pay­ments due April 26.

Pick-up/drop-off lo­ca­tions are at Grasonville Se­nior Cen­ter, Kent Island Se­nior Cen­ter and Sudlersville Se­nior Cen­ter. The ap­prox­i­mate time­line for the day is as fol­lows: de­part Kent Island at 8:15 a.m., Grasonville at 8:30 a.m. and Sudlersville at 9:15 a.m. Ar­rive at the theater at 11:15 a.m. with the show be­gin­ning at 1 p.m. De­par­ture from the theater is ex­pected at about 3:30 p.m.

Vol­un­teers are sought to act as trip chap­er­ones on a first come first serve ba­sis, Se­nior Cen­ter Ad­min­is­tra­tor Anne Sparks said. As com­pen­sa­tion, vol­un­teers will at­tend free of charge. Con­tact the of­fice for more in­for­ma­tion.
