De­spite the un­prece­dented ob­jec­tions from many home­own­ers in Queenstown, the Queen Anne’s County Board of Ap­peals unan­i­mously ap­proved a broad­cast com­pany’s re­quest last Tues­day to build a 340-foot ra­dio tower in Ben­nett Point.

The move gives Vi­sion Broad­cast­ing Co. con­di­tional use ap­proval to build the tower for its An­napo­lis-based rock sta­tion WHVY. Ground test­ing for con­struc­tion on the tower is ex­pected to be­gin be­fore sum­mer.

How­ever, the tower can­not in­ter­fere with emergency broad­casts as well as ra­dio and tele­vi­sion re­cep­tion, ac­cord­ing to the de­ci­sion re­leased by the board Thurs­day.
