Despite the unprecedented objections from many homeowners in Queenstown, the Queen Anne’s County Board of Appeals unanimously approved a broadcast company’s request last Tuesday to build a 340-foot radio tower in Bennett Point.
The move gives Vision Broadcasting Co. conditional use approval to build the tower for its Annapolis-based rock station WHVY. Ground testing for construction on the tower is expected to begin before summer.
However, the tower cannot interfere with emergency broadcasts as well as radio and television reception, according to the decision released by the board Thursday.
