She was a member of the Knights of Pythians Sisters, Ladies Auxiliary VFW 7464, and Women of the Moose Bay County Chapter 1696.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 69 years, John R. Thomas of Grasonville; sons: Danny E. Thomas of Grasonville and Richard Thomas (Bonnie) of Holtwood, PA. She was predeceased by all her brothers and sisters: William Clevenger (1983), Bud Clevenger (1999), Dorothy Clough (1999), Shirley O’Donnell (2000) and Marlin Clevenger (2000).
A visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 7 at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, PA in Centreville, MD, where a funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 8 at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Easton, MD.

Mrs. Snyder was born on May 16, 1927 in Burlington, N.J., daughter of the late Albert and Laura Trego Haines. After her marriage in 1951, she and her husband moved to Queen Anne’s County where they purchased Golden Acres farm in 1955. They were the first farm to have irrigation in the area and were known for Snyder’s Sugar Corn. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Chestertown and was an active member of the Homemakers, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Cadwalader of Kent Questors.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Linda and Susan Snyder; and a brother, Albert Haines.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Snyder; her brother, William “Jeff” Jefferson; and best friend, Toni Davis.
A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Monday, April 10 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where funeral service will begin at noon. Burial in Crumpton Cemetery.
