She was a mem­ber of the Knights of Pythi­ans Sis­ters, Ladies Aux­il­iary VFW 7464, and Women of the Moose Bay County Chap­ter 1696.

She is sur­vived by her beloved hus­band of 69 years, John R. Thomas of Grasonville; sons: Danny E. Thomas of Grasonville and Richard Thomas (Bon­nie) of Holt­wood, PA. She was pre­de­ceased by all her broth­ers and sis­ters: Wil­liam Cle­venger (1983), Bud Cle­venger (1999), Dorothy Clough (1999), Shirley O’Don­nell (2000) and Mar­lin Cle­venger (2000).

A visi­ta­tion will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fri­day, April 7 at the Fel­lows, Helfen­bein & New­nam Fu­neral Home, PA in Centreville, MD, where a fu­neral ser­vice will be held on Satur­day, April 8 at 11 a.m. In­ter­ment will be in Wood­lawn Memo­rial Park in Eas­ton, MD.

The fam­ily re­quests memo­rial con­tri­bu­tions be made to Com­pass Regi­nal Hos­pice, 160 Cour­se­vall Drive, Centreville, MD 21617.

Mrs. Sny­der was born on May 16, 1927 in Burling­ton, N.J., daugh­ter of the late Al­bert and Laura Trego Haines. Af­ter her mar­riage in 1951, she and her hus­band moved to Queen Anne’s County where they pur­chased Golden Acres farm in 1955. They were the first farm to have ir­ri­ga­tion in the area and were known for Sny­der’s Su­gar Corn. She was a mem­ber of Christ United Methodist Church in Ch­ester­town and was an ac­tive mem­ber of the Home­mak­ers, Beta Sigma Phi Soror­ity and Cad­walader of Kent Questors.

Along with her par­ents, she was pre­ceded in death by her daugh­ters, Linda and Su­san Sny­der; and a brother, Al­bert Haines.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band of 65 years, John Sny­der; her brother, Wil­liam “Jeff” Jef­fer­son; and best friend, Toni Davis.

A view­ing will be held from 11 a.m. to noon Mon­day, April 10 in the Galena Fu­neral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, where fu­neral ser­vice will be­gin at noon. Burial in Crumpton Ceme­tery.
