Queenstown to hold egg-tap­pin’ com­pe­ti­tion

QUEENSTOWN — The town of Queenstown and Queenstown Vol­un­teer Fire Depart­ment will hold an egg-tap­pin’ com­pe­ti­tion at noon Satur­day, April 15, at the play­ground on Old Wharf Lane for res­i­dents age 8 and up.

Bring your own hard-boiled chicken egg to the com­pe­ti­tion. Dec­o­rat­ing is op­tional but en­cour­aged. Reg­is­ter your egg; be­gin egg-tap­pin’ with other com­peti­tors upon judge’s in­struc­tion.

Com­peti­tors are elim­i­nated when their egg cracks; com­pe­ti­tion ends when only only egg is left un-cracked.

Win­ner must then crack and eat their egg to en­sure no “fowlplay.” Win­ner re­ceives a chicken din­ner.

Fish din­ners of­fered on Good Fri­day

CHURCH HILL — Bethel AME Church, 208 Agnes St., will have fish din­ners for sale start­ing at 11 a.m. on Good Fri­day, April 14. Din­ners in­clude two side items for $12. Fish sand­wiches also are avail­able for $6 each.
