Free seedlings avail­able this month

CEN­TRE­VILLE — The Queen Anne’s County Fore­str y Board in co­op­er­a­tion with the Mary­land For­est Ser­vice is hold­ing its an­nual tree seedling give­away pro­gram be­gin­ning Tues­day, April 25, though Fri­day, April 28.

There will be four dif­fer­ent tree species avail­able. They in­clude Amer­i­can plum, beau­ty­berry, river birch and wil­low oak. They are 1 or 2 years old and av­er­age 8 to 10 inches tall with bare roots.

The fol­low­ing are the tree dis­tri­bu­tion lo­ca­tions and times for seedling pickup: • Barclay Town Of­fice: 10 a.m. to noon • Cen­tre­ville Town Of­fice: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• 13501 Main St., Queen Anne: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Church Hill Town Of­fice: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• DNR Of­fice Dis­trict Court, Cen­tre­ville: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Kent Is­land Li­brary: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Queen­stown Town Of­fice: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• Queen Anne’s Soil Con­ser­va­tion Dis­trict Of­fice: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

• Sudlersville Town Of­fice: 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The Queen Anne’s County Forestry Board, in co­op­er­a­tion with the Mary­land For­est Ser­vice, will of­fer free tree seedlings at var­i­ous lo­ca­tions around the county April 25-28. Here seedlings wait for pick up in Queen Anne dur­ing a pre­vi­ous give­away.
