the fifth deuce, Tondin hit a forehand into the net and Morris delivered a forehand winner at the net to end it.
Tondin got some payback in singles, playing No. 3, when he rallied from a 7-4 deficit to top Morris, 9-7. Tondin won all eight points in the final two games. He served an ace into Morris’ body to open Game 15 and then scored with a slice, a crosscourt forehand, and a deep forehand. A slice for a winner and a deep backhand that ended a long rally made it love-30 in Game 16. Morris double-faulted and sent a forehand into the net to close out the match.
