Jeep Wran­gler over­turns in Church Hill

CHURCH HILL — About 6 p.m. April 17, the op­er­a­tor of 2014 Jeep Wran­gler lost con­trol of his ve­hi­cle and it crashed into a util­ity pole on Price Sta­tion Road near the in­ter­sec­tion of Flat Iron Road.

Ac­cord­ing to a pre­lim­i­nar y re­port from the Mary­land State Po­lice, Cody Thomas of Ch­ester was at­tempt­ing to ad­just the tem­per­a­ture con­trols in the ve­hi­cle when he lost con­trol of the Jeep and it left the road, strik­ing a pole and over­turn­ing.

Units from MSP, Church Hill Vol­un­teer Fire Com­pany and Queen Anne’s County EMS re­sponded.

En­gine 52 ar­rived on the scene to find the driver had got­ten him­self out of the ve­hi­cle, ac­cord­ing to the fire depart­ment. Af­ter be­ing eval­u­ated by EMS, Thomas was taken by am­bu­lance to an area hospi­tal for treat­ment.

No other ve­hi­cles were in­volved.

WYE MILLS — What ap­pears to be the work­ing con­trol unit for a drone was found on the side of MD 213 near US 50 in Wye Mills at 8:20 a.m. Feb. 13. The item was turned in to the Queen Anne’s County Sher­iff’s Of­fice. If some­one has lost such an item, he or she can con­tact the prop­erty room at 410-758-0770, ext. 1219, to iden­tify and claim it.
