SUDLERSVILLE — John Alfred Klecan of Sudlersville passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Kent General Hospital in Dover, Del. He was 76.
Mr. Klecan was born in Goldsboro on Oct. 31, 1940, the son of the late Emma “Thorpe” and William Klecan. As a young boy, he worked for neighboring farms and Jarrels Cannery and in 1958 he graduated from Greensboro High School. Mr. Klecan entered into the United States Army and served his country for two years. After his discharge he came home and went to work for Johnson Controls, where he eventually retired in 2000 after 38 years. In his younger years he enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing, and later in life he enjoyed watching baseball, football, working in his garage and planting in his garden with his John Deere tractor. John Klecan, known to some as Alfred and better known as Pop Pop, will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Klecan; two sisters, Elsie Greenley and Dorothy Sard; and two brothers, George Edward Klecan and Charles William Klecan.
