GLEN BURNIE — The Mary­land Depart­ment of Trans­porta­tion Motor Ve­hi­cle Ad­min­is­tra­tion will close all of­fices and Ve­hi­cle Emis­sions In­spec­tion Pro­gram sta­tions on Sat­ur­day, April 22, to al­low for statewide MVA com­puter up­grades to al­low us to bet­ter serve cus­tomers. Cus­tomers will not be able to con­duct web or self-ser vice kiosk trans­ac­tions begin­ning Sat­ur­day, April 22, at 12:01 a.m. un­til Sun­day, April 23, at noon. MVA’s 10 self-ser­vice VEIP kiosks will re­main open.

CEN­TRE­VILLE — The Queen Anne’s County 4-H Marks­man­ship Team will spon­sor a LuLaRoe fundraiser from 1 to 3 April 22 at the Queen Anne’s County 4-H Park. The fundraiser is to ben­e­fit the Al­lan Sis­som Me­mo­rial Schol­ar­ship Fund.

Beth and Jeff Sis­som set up this fund when their son was trag­i­cally killed in an au­to­mo­bile crash a year and a half ago. The schol­ar­ship is set up for stu­dents at Kent Is­land High School and Queen Anne’s County High School who wish to pur­sue weld­ing at Ch­e­sa­peake Col­lege.

There will be door prizes, raf­fles, food and kids ac­tiv­i­ties.
