Fay Reece Kemp
MILLINGTON — Fay Reece Kemp, 88, of Smyrna, DE, gently passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Fay was born June 8, 1928, in Rogersville, TN, the daughter of the late John H. Drinnon and Pearl Williams Drinnon. She attended New Hope Church School in Hawkins County, TN, and went on to marry Dallas Frank Reece, also of TN. They made their home and started a family on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in 1953. She spent most of her life as a homemaker and worked as a private caregiver to ailing members of many local families. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cooking, and gardening, but her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family and loved ones. She remained loyal and supportive of her family in all ways, be it times of joy or hardship, showering them with unconditional love and affection as well as a good laugh or two. It was important to her that everyone left her home with full bellies and hearts. In her later years, she delighted in the company of her grand and great-grandchildren who always brought her great joy and amusement.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, William D. Kemp in 1995 and Dallas Frank Reece Sr. in 1983, as well as two sons, Bruce Laymond Reece in 1974 and Ronald Earl Reece Sr. in 2002; two grandsons, James Reece in 2016 and Barry Reece Sr. in 2003, and a brother, James Vaughn in 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Dallas F. Reece Jr. of Sudlersville and H. Dale Reece of Millington; one daughter, Lisa J. Reece Sipple of Smyrna; one sister, Shirley Trent of Kodak, TN; one brother, Douglas Drinnon of Palm Bay, FL, formerly of Morristown, TN; four grandchildren: Ronald E. Reece Jr. of Smyrna, Jacob Reece of Clayton, Daniel Reece of Millington, Julia Sipple of Millsboro; several other grandchildren through marriages and 26 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Friday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Fellows Family Funeral Home, 370 Cypress St., Millington, MD. Services will be held Saturday, May 13, 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, MD.
