BOOKS IN BARS Join us at Ram’s Head Shore House, just across the road from the Kent Is­land Branch, for a fun so­cial time and even a book dis­cus­sion on Tues­day, May 23, fro 6 to 8 p.m. This month’s fo­cus will be on a novel by a lo­cal au­thor, “The Scrp­book of Frankie pratt,” by Caro­line Pre­ston. ••• BOOK TALK, MAY 20 Come in for the se­cond in a se­ries of book talks fea­tur­ing mur­der, mys­tery and may­hem with a dis­tinc­tive Bri­tish fla­vor to be held on Satur­day, May 20, from 3 to 4 p.m. You can en­joy a cup of tea while Kath­leen in­tro­duces you to a va­ri­ety of au­thors and se­ries that you might have over­looked in your Li­brary brows­ing.

••• PET-A-PALOOZA

MAY 21 Bring the chil­dren and the whole fam­ily to the Li­brary on Sun­day, May 21, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the fifth an­nual Pet-A-Palooza for all kinds of fun. There will be prizes, a pup­pet show, Silly Songs by Sam, an­i­mal res­cue groups, along with an­i­mal car ex­perts and some 30 vendors.

••• FREE MOVIE IS MAY 19 You will en­joy the May mati­nee movie to be shown free of charge at 2 p.m. on May 19. It is “La La Land” and stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
