Peggy L. Wilhelm
GRASONVILLE — Peggy Louise (Smith) Wilhelm of Grasonville, Md., passed away on May 11, 2017, surrounded by family, after a long battle with cancer. She was 58.
Peggy was born on July 31, 1958, to Rosie (Andrews) Smith and the late Harvey Smith. She graduated from Queen Anne’s County High School, class of 1976. Peggy began working locally as a waitress in area restaurants, in addition to cleaning homes. Most recently, she worked as a retail clerk at the Queenstown Outlets.
On July 11, 1987, she married Eric Wilhelm, and they made their home in Grasonville, Md.
Peggy enjoyed collecting sea glass, attending yard sales, crafts, taking pictures, spending time at the beach and, most of all, being with her family and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by two children, Jason Lowery, Cierra (Wilhelm) Cross and her husband Warren; three siblings, Brenda Harris; Richard Smith; Jamie Smith; and two grandchildren, Warren Cross III and Ella Cross.
A visitation was held on Monday, May 15, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, Centreville, Md. A funeral service was held at noon. Burial was private.
