Stevensville man lands big jack­pot at Yonkers casino

YONKERS, NY — A four-hour, 214mile drive to Yonkers, NY, paid off big time for James E. Dob­son of Stevensville. On Satur­day of Me­mo­rial Day week­end, May 27, Dob­son be­came the lat­est six­fig­ure jack­pot win­ner when he scored for $143,723.16 at the Gotham Palace, Em­pire City Casino.

The $10 wa­ger on the $5 de­nom­i­na­tion ma­chine re­sulted in the big pay­day at 8 p.m.

Dob­son’s was the sec­ond six­fig­ure jack­pot to hit in a one-week span on the Wheel of For­tune.

Just six days ear­lier, on May 21, an­other lucky James made a shorter trip from The Bronx to Yonkers, a win­ning jour­ney when James M. hit a $149,931 jack­pot at Em­pire City, re­ported the casino.

The Wheel of For­tune sits just yards away from the slot ma­chine where a New York State race­track casino record $1,713,985 jack­pot is still wait­ing to be won.
