Stevensville man lands big jackpot at Yonkers casino
YONKERS, NY — A four-hour, 214mile drive to Yonkers, NY, paid off big time for James E. Dobson of Stevensville. On Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, May 27, Dobson became the latest sixfigure jackpot winner when he scored for $143,723.16 at the Gotham Palace, Empire City Casino.
The $10 wager on the $5 denomination machine resulted in the big payday at 8 p.m.
Dobson’s was the second sixfigure jackpot to hit in a one-week span on the Wheel of Fortune.
Just six days earlier, on May 21, another lucky James made a shorter trip from The Bronx to Yonkers, a winning journey when James M. hit a $149,931 jackpot at Empire City, reported the casino.
