••• BUILD A BETTER
WORLD Registration is required for the DIY Workshops in June and July at the library as we hope to build a better world.
On June 21 at 6 p.m. get a chance to use some power tools, hand tools, and paint while creating a birdhouse to take home.
July 19 at 6 p.m. create a great piece of chalkboard to put up in your house or decorated your patio with, get the chance to be “hands-on” with tools and tell everyone you made it yourself. (Lettering may be part of the class to create a beautiful lasting phrase on your chalkboard. There is limited space and registration closes one week prior to the workshop.
••• AN AUTHOR EVENT You will want to be at the library on July 29 at 1 p.m. to meet Rebekah Colburn, author of My Brother’s Flag series. We will hear her discuss her writing process and read an excerpt from her newest My Brother’s Flag book. Books will be available for purchase and author signing.
••• BOOKS IN BARS Join us for a fun social time, oh yes, and a book discussion on Tuesday, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ram’s Head Shore House, just across the street from the Kent Island Branch Library.
