CLUB Join us at the NovelTea Book Club on June 14, start­ing at 6 p.m. Meet with other book lovers to dis­cuss fa­vorite Amer­i­can au­thors, books you are read­ing, books you loved, and even books you hated. WORLD Reg­is­tra­tion is re­quired for the DIY Work­shops in June and July at the li­brary as we hope to build a bet­ter world.

On June 21 at 6 p.m. get a chance to use some power tools, hand tools, and paint while cre­at­ing a bird­house to take home.

July 19 at 6 p.m. cre­ate a great piece of chalk­board to put up in your house or dec­o­rated your pa­tio with, get the chance to be “hands-on” with tools and tell ev­ery­one you made it your­self. (Let­ter­ing may be part of the class to cre­ate a beau­ti­ful last­ing phrase on your chalk­board. There is lim­ited space and reg­is­tra­tion closes one week prior to the work­shop.

••• AN AU­THOR EVENT You will want to be at the li­brary on July 29 at 1 p.m. to meet Re­bekah Col­burn, au­thor of My Brother’s Flag se­ries. We will hear her dis­cuss her writ­ing process and read an ex­cerpt from her new­est My Brother’s Flag book. Books will be avail­able for pur­chase and au­thor sign­ing.

••• BOOKS IN BARS Join us for a fun so­cial time, oh yes, and a book dis­cus­sion on Tues­day, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Ram’s Head Shore House, just across the street from the Kent Is­land Branch Li­brary. This month we will fo­cus on the novel, ‘The Painter” by Peter Heller. Dinner and drinks are or­dered be­fore the con­ver­sa­tion be­gins. Call Kim at 410-758-0980 with any ques­tions.
