Harmony on the Bay selects new director
CENTREVILLE — Harmony on the Bay recently announced that Ronaleen “Roni” Gapetz has been named the new director of the female a cappella chorus.
Gapetz also directs a male barbershop chorus in Easton, the Bay Country Chorus.
Gapetz has over 20 years experience as a director, having directed Ocean Bay Sweet Adelines in Salisbury, The Sound of the Atlantic in Bethany Beach and Nautical Sounds/Ocean View Chapter of Barbershop Harmony Society.
She taught music to students in fourth through eighth grade at St. Francis de Sales School in Salisbury and directed two music concerts each year.
“Developing harmonious chords that can be enjoyed by both singers and listeners has always been my pleasure and I look forward to helping Harmony On The Bay further-develop those skills,” Gapetz said in a news release.
Gapetz holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in music from Bethany College in Bethany, W.V. as well as a Masters of Education from Salisbury University. In addition, she has completed the Sweet Adelines International director training courses and is a certified director.
