KENT NAR­ROWS — Fire­works will light up the Kent Nar­rows sky July 4 as part of Queen Anne’s County In­de­pen­dence Day Cel­e­bra­tion that in­cludes fam­ily fun, food, mu­sic and of course the fire­works. The rain date for fire­works only is July 5. Ad­mis­sion and park­ing are free.

Park­ing for the event will be at the old Kent Nar­rows Fac­tory Out­lets and all Kent Nar­rows public-park­ing ar­eas.

Fes­tiv­i­ties be­gin at 6 p.m. on the wa­ter­front grounds of Ch­e­sa­peake Ex­plo­ration Cen­ter, lo­cated on the north­west side of Kent Nar­rows off Piney Nar­rows Road. Vendors will be on hand to sell treats, such as hot dogs, ham­burg­ers, pit pork and beef, pop­corn, fun­nel cakes, and other fes­ti­val food and drinks.

The up-close-and-per­sonal view of the fire­works dis­play be­gins at 9:20 p.m. Some fees may ap­ply for chil­dren’s rides. Blan­kets and lawn chairs are rec­om­mended for prime fire­worksview­ing com­fort.
