CLOSED JULY 4 Both libraries on Kent Island and in Centreville will be closed all day Tuesday, July 4, for the Fourth of July holiday. Both will open at 9 a.m. on July 5 for a full day.
••• SUMMER READING Check out the Summer Reading display in the front lobby of the Library as you come in.
••• KIDS READ FREE Remember, there are no late fees on children’s or young adult material checked out during July. This does not include all DVDs and interlibrary loan items.
••• COMPUTER WORKSHOPS We will have two one-onone workshops at the Library where you can pick your time and topic. We will hold the workshops on July 13 at 9 and 10 a.m.; and again on July 19 at 2, 3 and 4 p.m. You pick your topic you want: computers for beginners, Microsoft programs (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.), Windows 8, Windows 10; internet, email, library services, tablets and smartphones.
••• DIY WORKSHOP The DIY Workshop at the Library in July will be making chalkboards on July 19 at 6 p.m. and registration is required. The registration closes a week prior to the workshop, and space is limited. You will create a great piece to put in your house or decorate your patio with. Get a chance to be hands on with tools and tell everyone you made it yourself. Lettering may be part of the class to create a beautiful lasting phrase on your chalkboard.
••• OUR MAC HOUR Have a question with an Apple product? The Mac Gal can help you at the Library on Tuesday, July 12, starting at 9:30 a.m. Signups are recommended as priority is given to those who register, while all others are first come, first served.
