School board OKs contract for new superintendent
CENTREVILLE — The county school board has approved a four-year contract for the new school superintendent.
The Queen Anne’s County Board of Education approved a contract for Dr. Andrea M. Kane on June 30, with a start date of July 1. On June 14, the school board announced the selection of Kane as the district’s next superintendent.

I look forward to being the lead advocate for every child in our school system and providing support and assistance to our classroom teachers, school administrators, and support staff while working together with our community as one cohesive team,” Kane said.
Kane holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, a master’s of education degree in curriculum & instruction and administration/supervision certification from Loyola College in Maryland, and a Ph.D. in educational leadership from Northcentral University.
