WAF slates Local Color Art Show, Sale
EASTON — The Working Artists Forum, a non-profit art organization of local artists who meet monthly at the Academy Art Museum in Easton, is pleased to announce the dates for this year’s Local Color Art Show and Sale, which is held in conjunction with Plein Air Easton.
The public is invited to this popular, annual event held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Tidewater Inn, 101 E. Dover St., Easton. Admission to the show is free, and all art will be offered for sale. Sales are handled by members of WAF.
The Local Color Art Show and Sale starts on Friday, July 21, and runs through Sunday, July 23. The opening reception and award presentation will be held Friday at Noon. Forty-two artists from the Delmarva Peninsula were selected to participate this year, following a jurying process conducted by Trey Finney. Winning entries will be chosen by Sara Linda Poly, judge for the event.
The show hours are Friday, July 21, from noon yo 6 p.m.; Saturday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, July 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
There are a number of free painting demonstrations given by 2016 Plein Air award winners during the show at the Tidewater. Artists giving those demonstrations are Sara Linda Poly (2016 Plein Air Grand Prize Winner), Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.; Trey Finney (2016 Plein Air 2nd Place Winner) Friday from 3:30 to 5:30; Charlie Hunter on Saturday from 2:30 to 4:30; Jason Sacran on Saturday 5 to 7; and Hiu Lai Chong on Sunday from 9 to 11 a.m., (complimentary pastry buffet provided) and Camille Przewodak from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. These events are also posted at www. pleinaireaston.com.
Visitors to the Local Color Art Show can enjoy watching a number of artists painting in the Plein Air style on the streets around the Tidewater Inn.
